Real readers please register again.

Dear readers, at least the few of you who are real. Sorry for the website hacking problems last week. I lost 4 days of what could have been editing time and/or book reviewing time. During that period, I hardly slept. As each new admin popped up, I demoted him, her, or the bot to a subscriber. I also changed emails and passwords to something they could never guess. After Arvixe and Wordfence solved my site vulnernabilities and blocked the hacker ips, I realized keeping the new users wouldn’t do any good if they were bots. Bots don’t have consciences, so reasoning with them couldn’t change them. I want real people as subscribers anyway. so rather than trying to match every user with the bad guys’ ips, I deleted everyone I don’t know.

If you try to log in using a nonexistent ID, you’ll get locked out and your ip will be blocked. So it’s better not to try and log in, just register again. In case you do get locked out, please be patient and register again when the lock expires or when your isp assigns you another, both usually within a few days. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but I think it’s better to start clean.

This is a book blog. Here, more than anywhere else, having real readers is the only real option. Reading books used to be just my favorite hobby, but for the last couple of years it’s also been my livelihood. Now, reading books and reviewing them keeps my editing business afloat.

Thanks for understanding.

  1. May I simply say what a relief to find someone that really knows what they’re
talking about online. You actually know how to bring
a problem to light and make it important. A lot more people ought
to look at this and understand this side of your story.
I was surprised you aren’t more popular given that you definitely have the gift.

    • Here’s the thing, Ava, or whoever you are. I left your comment to show other spammers that I do know what I’m talking about. Of course, I stripped out your URL, something no child should ever see, and something i sure don’t want to become acquainted with. Ever. Plus, I deleted your email. So whoever comments next, be aware that you won’t get a backlink unless you’re the kind of person I want visiting my site.

Greetings from California! I’m bored at work so I decided
to check out your blog on my iphone during lunch break.

I love the information you present here and can’t wait to take
a look when I get home. I’m shocked at how quick your blog loaded
on my phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyways, superb site!

    • Funny, but I’ve been told my site is slow. In fact, I already hired someone to fix it. So once again, I’m keeping a comment to show spammers they won’t get backlinks from me. Your URL is gone like the wind.

  3. I really like your blog.. very nice colors & theme.
Did you design this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you?

Plz reply as I’m looking to create my own blog and would like to know where u got this from.

    • On the off chance that one of the spammers actually reads comments, here’s one that shows a spammer at least looked at my blog. This is a responsive woocommerce theme available through themeforest for $58. Although it advertized being customizable, all the options I wanted weren’t available. For the ones I couldn’t do myself, I hired someone from Fiverr. Great way to get a lot done for a little money. I highly recommend it.
