Hello there everyone, Paul here today. Amidst all the craziness I wanted to sneak in a review of my friend and fellow author/blogger Stacie Theis. In case you have never visited Stacie’s site BeachBoundBooks, you should. The site features children’s book reviews, giveaways, she is a supporter of the KidLit Blog Hop and a strong supporter of all of us children’s book authors. Do yourself a favor and stop by BeachBoundBooks and say “Hi” to Stacie.
Now before my review, let’s read the Goodreads blurb for The Blue Daisy: A Lesson In Gratitude:
Oh, by the way, feel free to click on the book title or cover image to head over to Amazon for purchase. Don’t worry, it will open a new window so you won’t lose your place here.
The bright sun warms a field of daisies, but all the blue daisy does is complain. Can she learn to be grateful before she loses all her petals? Find out in this whimsical tale that teaches children to appreciate what they have.
Now for my review:
What I liked best: The message. I thought the message was super. Listening to others, being grateful, and trusting others is valuable advice as the Blue Daisy learns. I think the rhyme is entertaining and children won’t feel like they are being hit over the head with the lesson.
What missed a bit: Not really anything. I personally wish I would have read the physical book, but I purchased the kindle version and that is my fault.
Overall: A very cute, entertaining book for youngsters and adults alike. Kids will feel proud that they were able to figure out the lesson rather than being told what it is and the illustrations are cute, eye catching and simple. This book should be added to every parents night time story collection. Well done!
Okay, that’s it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Again, be sure to check out BeachBoundBooks as well as Stacie’s Amazon author page. Don’t forget to leave me a comment. What was your favorite picture book?
