Lionel’s Christmas Adventure Blog Tour Finale @ B00kr3vi3ws

PhotobucketHi there everyone, Paul here. Thanks to Sher for covering for me while I was out of town this past weekend. Well it’s here! The last day of my blog tour, but before I get into that I would like to remind you all of the many wonderful things we have going on right now. There is still the rest of the day to enter the Book Lover’s Holiday Giveaway Hop hosted by Kathy at I Am a Reader Not a Writer and Maryann from Chapter by Chapter, the first ever Kid’s Books Holiday Hop hosted by Deanna Lynn Sletten, the Before Happily Ever After Blog Tour, and also make sure to enter award-winning author Crystal Marcos’s giveaway for a Kindle Fire (or $150 Amazon gift card) and more! My book is one of a set of three in the “and more” category, along with books by Crystal Marcos and Martha Rodriguez. Don’t miss out! And finally, my last stop on the Lionel’s Christmas Adventure blog tour today at B00k3vi3ws, a guest post that Sher helped me write about what makes a hero. Okay, so there is a lot going on, that’s perfect for the holidays right?

Moving on to my blog tour, I would like to thank Sher for her encouragement, her help in every way imaginable, Susan Kaye Quinn for her advice, and for all the wonderful bloggers that hosted me. I have never done a blog tour before this one and I can tell you, it has been quite an experience. Twenty four days (I took Sundays off), 3 author interviews, 4 character interviews, 8 reviews, and 8 guest posts.

Needless to say, I’ve been busy. The really strange thing is when this all started the thing I dreaded most was guest posts. Turns out I did more guest posts than anything, and guess what? I’m still doing them. I’ll be doing one on Book Reviews By Dee tomorrow and another on the 29th of Dec at Darlene’s Book Nook. I guess what they say is true, write, write, and write some more. Guest posts are now my favorite (and I believe most effective) thing to do. I think they really give the reader a glimpse of you the author, as well as your writing style. I will continue to do as many guest posts as possible.

All in all I think the tour was hugely successful for me. I was able to connect with literally thousands of readers and many wonderful bloggers. My suggestion to those of you that have never done a blog tour and are considering it would be to start early! Bloggers are a busy bunch (right Sher?) and they plan their schedules sometimes months in advance. Query bloggers months before you’re ready to embark on your tour, as much as 4-5 months in advance. Identify markets that contain your target audience, as well as ones that you are not currently exposed to. I found that creating the Rafflecopter form and the posts in HTML format for bloggers was very much appreciated as well. Again, bloggers are busy and the easier on them you make it, the happier they will be.

PhotobucketI received some really wonderful reviews during the tour and I’ll provide the links to a few in case you missed them. There For You Melissa wasn’t on the tour and her review was a bit of a surprise, but it was so wonderful I’d like to share it with you. Melissa is also giving away a paperback copy of Lionel’s Christmas Adventure so swing by to enter. I couldn’t have been happier with the review by Sharon and her daughter Katie at A Mommy’s Tale. And last but not least, maybe my favorite review of all time from Christy at Another Step to Take who was on the tour.

Okay, enough of me now. Head over to B00k3vi3ws for my guest post and a chance to win my giveaway. I messed up the Rafflecopter form, so this is an additional chance to win with better odds, just leave a comment. Also, if you’ve never read Lionel, tomorrow and Wednesday I will be offering Lionel’s Grand Adventure: Lionel Turns the Other Cheek FREE on Amazon. Thanks everyone and be sure to leave a comment telling me anything you want about blog tours.

  1. That’s wonderful that you had a fruitful blog tour! I hope you got to meet new writer and blogger buddies along the way!

  2. Hi Cynthia,
Thank you for stopping by. I think that may have been the most rewarding part. The wonderful bloggers and writers that I met in the process of doing this was, to be frank, unexpected. I can’t wait to return the favor and visit them all again. The writer & blogger community certainly did itself proud in my eyes. So many wonderful people willing to give their time, share their experiences, just amazing! Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by.
