“Hi, as you can see, my name originates from the Netherlands. ‘Noot’ is pronounced as ‘Note.’ I grew up in the Netherlands and moved to the United States in 2013. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. In the Netherlands, I did the highest level of high school. I had a few passions: Art, language and sports. That’s why I took language courses of Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, and Thai. The last mentioned was to do volunteer work for DEPDC, a school that prevents children from going into prostitution by offering them free education. After high school, I studied art in Belgium and eventually tourism and recreation industries in Breda, Netherlands, from which University I graduated.
So how come I moved to the USA? Well, love makes you do crazy things. I have a few aunts and uncles who live in Utah, so I came here to spend the summer. I met a girl who stole my heart. After one of the best summers of my life dating her and some plans for the future, we started the visa process. It took a whole year! Ughhh… but during that time, I saved up a lot of money by editing texts, translating from English to Dutch, and drawing portraits, cartoons, board games, illustrations, etc. for a child day care center. When I finally received the visa, I flew over and married Celestial, who is now my wife.
Together with my wife, we came up with a book which, we think, fills up a gap in the market. Of course most people have heard of “Where is Waldo.” I loved those find and seek books, but they were lacking a more child-friendly approach, with kids as the main characters in daily situations children are in. We invented a family called “The Cutes”. The first book is finished and will be available for sale soon. It’s called “Find the Cutes – Playtime,” and will be the first in a series of 10. Feel free to spread the word about our upcoming book series, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or other social media. The books will be amazing quality products that children can enjoy for hours. My services: You may hire me as an illustrator, an editor, or request for reviews. I like children’s books, and book with a moral lesson or psychological dilemma. I mostly enjoy books in which the main character turns out to be a hero/heroin who makes a tough decision. As an artist, I love quality artwork, so books with pictures appeal to me more than the one without them.
